Donald Trump seen as Hungary’s friend  

A pro-government commentator suggests that Hungary would benefit from the re-election of President Trump in November. He calls Prime Minister Orbán a strategic and ideological ally of the US President.

Magyar Nemzet’s Csaba Szajlai writes that Hungary would be better off if President Trump is reelected in November as US President. The pro-government commentator contends that President Trump’s election would be geopolitically as well as economically advantageous for Hungary. Szajlai thinks that President Trump’s bilateral approach in foreign affairs as well as his anti-immigration policies and pro-sovereignty values are close to Prime Minister Orbán’s vision. He also notes that Washington sees Prime Minister Orbán as a strategic ally, as the Hungarian PM opposes the further federalization of the European Union.
